GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Performs facility operational activities related to customer services, aquatics programing, pools, and other duties as assigned. Includes, but is not limited to the following essential functions of the job.
ESSENTIALS OF JOB:
1. Promotes the highest level of customer service at all levels, at all times.
a. Provides excellent customer service by establishing and maintaining effective relationships with members, supervisor, peers, fellow employees, and the public in order to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. (constantly)
b. Greets members and guests constantly and by name frequently.
c. Responds to, resolves, or refers customer issues effectively and in a positive manner. (constantly)
2. Responsible for guarding and maintaining aquatics areas and pools.
a. Be alert while on duty. (constantly)
b. Enforce all pool rules in a consistent manner in order to prevent accidents. (frequently)
c. Handle discipline situations with courtesy and fairness. (occasionally)
d. Respond quickly, intelligently, decisively and in accordance with established emergency and accident procedures. (constantly)
e. Administer first aid and CPR as required. (seldom)
3. Reliably completes daily assignments including, but not limited to the following:
a. Performs responsibilities related to opening and closing the pool area. (constantly)
b. Conducts frequent rounds to monitor deck and facility cleanliness as well as to identify potential safety hazards in order to ensure the Amarillo Town Club is compliant with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. (frequently)
4. Promotes and adheres to the policies of the Amarillo Town Club including, but not limited to, the following. (frequently)
a. Utilize staff parking areas.
b. Follow substitution and time-off procedures.
c. Enforcement of Amarillo Town Club rules.
5. Participates in comprehensive staff training.
a. Maintains an acceptable level of participation in educational activities, including in-services, for the development of skills necessary to perform job assignment. (constantly)
6. Communicates effectively, accurately, and systematically with supervisor, peers, fellow employees, the membership population, and the public.
a. Provides accurate information to members and the public regarding pool rules, guest policies, outside food restriction, age restrictions, products, pricing, hours of operation, etc. by phone, electronically, and face to face. (frequently)
7. Maintains a safe work environment and ensures that established safe work habits are adhered to by all employees.
a. Responds to incidents at the facility, completes Incident Report Forms and notifies Supervisor. (occasionally)
b. Identify and communicate potential facility, environmental, or weather related safety hazards. (occasionally)
c. Is compliant with all applicable local, state and federal regulations.
8. Coordinates aquatic services with other departments.
a. Educates staff and members about aquatics programming, marketing promotions, and other Amarillo Town Club programs and activities. (occasionally)
9. Ensures sound fiscal management of company resources.
a. Clock in and out in a timely manner. (constantly)
b. Use the appropriate type and quantity of maintenance and cleaning products. (frequently)
10. Must be able to commit the time necessary from an attendance and punctuality standpoint in order to accomplish the above specified Essentials of Job. (constantly)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Must be at least a high school or college student.
EXPERIENCE: Prior lifeguarding or food service experience is preferred but not required. Candidates must demonstrate maturity, responsibility, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
SKILLS/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Must hold or obtain the following certifications prior to the first day of active lifeguard duty:
? American Red Cross Lifeguard or equivalent
? CPR for the Professional Rescuer
? First Aid
