Job Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: That required for licensure in the State of Texas as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse. Prior experience in a charge position. Must be able to read, speak, and write English. Must be CPR certified.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the Assisted Living Manager, plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the direct and indirect care of a designated group of elders, within the framework of BCS policies. Ensures compliance with all State and Federal regulatory requirements in providing optimal care for each elder.
Hours: Rotating nights
ESSENTIALS OF JOB:
1. Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the direct and indirect care of a designated group of elders, which includes (constantly): the evaluation of the elders’ needs consideration of the Nursing Practice Act evaluation of the quality of services provided
2. Accurately assesses elders within three (3) hours of admission and at regularly established intervals. (frequently)
3. Provides and/or supervises nursing care as appropriate for condition of elder. (constantly)
4. Teaches elder and family member as needed regarding care issues. (frequently)
5. Develops collaborative relationship with interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care. (frequently)
6. Functions as an advocate for the elders. (constantly)
7. Develops Service Plans and Comprehensive Assessments. (constantly)
8. Evaluates subordinates for merit appraisals, counseling subordinates as indicated. (frequently)
9. Must be able to commit the time necessary from an attendance and punctuality standpoint to accomplish the above specified Essentials of Job. (constantly)
