BCS Resource Nurse Aide

Job Requirements

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the staffing coordinator, the Resource Nurse Aide will provide nurse aide assistance within the framework of BCS policies. Schedule will be provided on a weekly basis. Day positions will only be scheduled daytime hours and night positions will be scheduled night time hours. Scheduling may vary between days and facilities to meet the needs of Baptist Community Services. Hours of service may vary between 8 and 12 hour shifts as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: That required for licensure in the State of Texas as a Certified Nurse Aide.  Current CPR card required. Must be able to read, speak, and write English.
SKILLS: Must have the ability to remain highly flexible in shifts and assigned roles

ESSENTIALS OF JOB:
1. Will complete training at each campus location prior to being assigned shifts. Must maintain educational and training requirements at each facility following initial training. (occasionally)
2. Assist at any BCS campus location as scheduled. (occasionally)
3. Develop relationships with co-workers and administration at all facilities where assigned. (constantly)
4. Provide direct care to assigned group of clients under the direct supervision of the nurse responsible for that group of clients. (constantly)
5. Provides nursing assistance as appropriate for condition of elder to meet daily needs which may include: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, dietary and fluid needs, companionship, safety, and acting as the elders advocate. (constantly)
6. Verbally communicates pertinent information to the nurse directly in charge concerning the elders care. (frequently)
7. Cleans equipment in accordance with BCS policy and procedures and assists in keeping environment clutter free. (frequently)
8. Develops working relationships with the other team members to assist in providing comprehensive care. (frequently)
9. Will act only within the scope of federal, state, local and BCS guidelines. (constantly)
10. Must be able to commit the time necessary from an attendance and punctuality standpoint to accomplish the above specified Essentials of Job. (constantly)
