ESSENTIALS OF JOB:
1. Provides nursing assistance as appropriate for condition of resident to meet daily needs which may include: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, dietary and fluid needs, companionship and acting as the residents’ advocate. (constantly)
2. Develops collaborative relationship with interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.
3. Verbally communicates pertinent information to the Charge Nurse concerning an elder’s care. (frequently)
4. Documents both care provided and resident activities of daily living appropriately. (frequently)
5. Cares for each resident as an individual and adapts care to meet their needs and wishes. (constantly)
6. Must be able to commit the time necessary from an attendance and punctuality standpoint to accomplish the above specified Essentials of Job. (constantly)
Contributes to the ongoing process of establishing and meeting departmental and BCS goals and objectives. Participates in utilizing customer feedback to measure and improve effectiveness of service level.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: That required for certification in the State of Texas as a Certified Nurse Aide. CPR card required within 90 days of hire; must be maintained during employment. Must be able to read, speak, and write English.
PHYSICAL/SPECIAL DEMANDS:
1. Prepare and read reports.
2. Walk and stand for up to 8-12 hours.
3. Must lift or move up to 100 lbs. or more with assistance, occasionally; 50 lbs., frequently; 25 lbs., constantly.
4. Must be able to position self to reach floor level to six feet from the floor.
5. Will be able to move throughout the facility.
6. Must be able to push/pull up to 200 lbs.
7. Must be able to manipulate various size elders to and from sitting positions, and to assist in ambulation and transfers.
8. Aural acuity to respond to elders, staff, and customers.
9. Legible handwriting for documentation.
10. Must be able to perform simple math calculations.
